Business consultancy franchise Business Doctors is expanding into Lincolnshire and Rutland for the first time, with the aim of advising and supporting start-ups and small businesses in the region.
Entrepreneur David O’Brien, who has 30 years’ experience in operations, project management, sales and learning and development, is set to launch the East of England territory.
Specialising in helping young businesses to scale, Business Doctors’ branches are run by entrepreneurs and corporate professionals who aim to work alongside business owners and help them to overcome the challenges hindering their growth.
In line with the franchise brand’s consultancy style, franchisee O’Brien’s Lincolnshire and Rutland service will aim to take a “highly practical” approach to advising its small business clients.

Founded above a Cheshire takeaway shop by Rod Davies and Matt Levington in 2004, Business Doctors now has 30 territories in the UK and more in South Africa, Malta, the Republic of Ireland and India. The franchisor has now also taken steps to launch in Belgium and the Netherlands.
To date, the brand has provided consultancy services to over 10,000 companies.
Davies commented: “I am confident that David will be able to use his experience to transform the fortunes of small and medium sized businesses around Lincolnshire and Rutland.
“He shares my belief that small and medium enterprises need hands on, practical support and not just consultancy.”
On launching the new territory, O’Brien added: “People who set up a company usually do so because they are great at doing something or because they have a passion for it, such as hairdressing, photography or health products. Very few people start a business because they are good at business.”
