Why is she impressive?

28 year-old Jenny Griffiths came up with the idea for the Snap Fashion app while studying engineering at the University of Bristol as an undergraduate. After years spent developing the idea – with the help of backing from her university – Griffiths launched her fashtech solution in September 2012 and has been on ascent to start-up success ever since. Awarded an MBE in the Queen’s 2015 Birthday Honour’s List, Griffiths’ app enables users to take a picture of an item of clothing (or shoes and accessories) they like before scanning over 16,000 brands – including Topshop and Selfridges – to find similar items. In November 2015, angel investor Sherry Coutu’s Silicon Valley Comes to the UK programme identified Snap Fashion as having the potential to reach £100m revenues by 2020. More recently, Griffiths was selected as one of just a small cluster of up-and-coming founders to receive mentoring from high-profile entrepreneurs including Skype co-founder Niklas Zennström and Zoopla founder Alex Chesterman.
